wrong exhaust, any fix?

Greetings! I bought the Flowmaster 17234 for my 87 IROC. The flare is a little too small for mating the cat. It does mate but is prone to developing a small leak. I should have bought the 17233 with the 3" flare! However, it is installed now. Any bright ideas on how to improve the mating?

Best,
Tom

Re: wrong exhaust, any fix?

You need to call them up and order Convertor Pipe part number 26003 and Flange part number SF001 for the Flowmaster American Thunder Cat-back Exhaust System part number 17233.

This will convert your Flowmaster American Thunder Cat-back Exhaust System Part #17234 to Part #17233.

Re: wrong exhaust, any fix?

Those two cat back exhaust systems are the same except for the forward portion of the intermediate pipe and the loose flange.
