How loud is a one chamber Flowmaster?

I was thinking about getting one for my car. I want something to make mustangs shake in their seats.

LOUD.

U don't need 1 of them to make M*****g's back away. A regular Flowmaster is good enough.

Put it this way,

My buddy has a 78 z28( something around that time) with a built, and i mean BUILT, 350. He has headers, no cats, and true dual 3 in. with Flow 1 chambers, and the damn thing scares me. It sounds like one of those 12000 hp funny cars. He beat a guy in front of his house who has a 2000 TA that runs 6.? in the 1/8th, and he left that guy sitting still like it way nothing.

Are they even street legal, aren't they just race mufflers. So I would think if a cop wanted to could get you for noise pollution. Just trying to describel how loud they are.

I had 2 of these on my LeMans with 3" duals. I went down to 2.5" just as an attempt to deaden the resonense inside the car. They are loud, and they do sound like a Pro Stocker. Cops can pull you over, at least in Indiana, if you run these. You will wake the dead.

I'll bet it wouldn't be crazy loud on my car

More HP = More noise given the same exhaust system lets not forget.

So... if i had them on mine.... I'd still have to turn the radio off to hear it

2 chamber

Anyone got any sound bytes of 2 chamber? Keep in mind I got a catback now so its not duals at all.

I like flows and would like to stay w/ them. Anyone have a part # for a single 3" inlet and dual 3" outlets?

Thanks for the replies.

Not unless you want single exit, they don't make crossflows.

Just out of curiosity, are they louder than a cut-out? If so, why and how?

As far as actual noise, I think they are comparable to open headers. These mufflers kind of give the echoing sound to the exhaust. This is intensified if you run bigger pipe.

Then why not run straight pipes if it would be quieter and cheaper?

Straight pipes don't sound good.

I thought Flowmaster discontinued one-chambers? Or was that something else?
