I've been thinking of putting dual pipes coming from the cat of my car, and make them exit to the front of the rear tires. I have a few concerns in doing it up: Would the exhaust be too loud?
could I or should I try to put mufflers on? is this going to hit on the driveshaft or anything?I think it would look real neat and as for right now, all I have is just the stock exhaust system, this way would be cheaper maybe easier for me to do for now.
thanks for any help,

87GTA5.7L,

interior resonance will be fairly high if the mufflers are under the floor boards. i dont know if you are concerned about that or not. if you have stock exhaust manifolds and use 2 catalytic converters it shouldnt be TOO loud...likely still loud...but what i think is loud may be completely different from what you think is loud. but if you are doing dual exhaust you might as well put on a set of headers and two high flow cats to get max performance. doing this will make your exhaust louder.

i am planning on doing basically the same thing...running a short 2.5" dual system (no cats), right from my flowtech shorty headers (1.5" primaries) and dumping somewhere before the rear axle. i am thinking about using hooker aerochamber mufflers, but if anyone else has any suggestions, please tell me. i know my system will be loud, with a lot of interior resonance, but that is fine and dandy with me, cause i want it to be loud.

i have another question? will my 2.5" inch dual setup be too much for a modded 305 LG4 and as a result kill my low end torque? cause i dont want that to happen. i really need some answers to this question.

thanks for your help guys.

Go for it. That's how Grand Nationals and Monte Carlos are almost. But they exit out behind the rear tires. They have 1 cat like us that goes to 2 mufflers.
