another welder question?
another welder question?
http://www.welschs.com/trialblazer301g.html
the local MILLER dealer seems to be making me a good deal on a TRAILBLAZER 301 TIG similar to the one above plus the necessary extra optional accesories) ready to weld, combo, with a water cool torch, hand control, radiator plus ARG/gas/tank
does this combo seem to be a good tool for a hotrod shop? (aluminum TIG use,up to about 3/8" rarely,3/16 to 1/4" mostly , thinner and chrome moly roll cages, ETC.)
I like the idea of the generator and portability on a trailer, any bad points?
PRICE is not the issue, will this equipment do the job correctly?

a engine powered machine would be a poor choice for a shop enviroment. if you need a portable machine it's great, if you need a shop machine and a portable and can only afford one it's a great pick. engine powered machines aren't near as smooth to strike an arc with as an eletric machine. i would say if you're going to consider it ask the dealer to let you weld with one, mig, tig, and stick to see how you like it and how the machine preforms for you.

We have a simaler machine liek that at school Miller calls it the "bobcat". that thing was great to work with. we had to fix a few things around school and we pulled that thing everywhere we could. it was alot of fun. the teacher got it mainly so we can learn on differnt machines. the shop also had tons of Miller stick and mig welders and 4 tig welders (big industrial size guys). ahh i miss shop
