quick fiberglass question

i want to start working on a few parts i have in mind. what is a good way to fill them? i want to try a spoiler attempt and i know the 2nd gen ones have like a foam in them. i was thinking making the whole top, then making the bottom, spraying that expanding foam in the top and leveling and then adding the bottom on. also what is a good way to mount bolts to fiberglass so i can just bolt it to the lid?

I would say to make a jig/mold that you can put the bolts into and reinforce them with metal
my 0.02

maybe

Could you start the molding using a factory spoiler then doweling from it to build off of?
This would gove you your bolt pattern as well as a solid base.
Just a thought, if I'm understanding your goal right.
Good luck,

actually i was going to use the base of the stock spoiler and mold a second gen to it. but that project fell thru. so if anyone needs i have a 2nd gen spoiler, third gen tail lights and 73 camaro tail lights all in good shape i dont need.

I did the same exact thing. took a 2nd gen spoiler and mounted it on top of a 3 peice 3rd gen spoiler. it took forever, i had to keep redoing it cause it would crack where it transitions. the center peice of the 2nd gen is shorter than the 3rd gen. So I put the end peices from the 2nd gen on too, then cut the ends off to stop at the edge of the 3rd gen spoiler. Then I bolted the center pieces with each other, (carige heads with fender washers under) then bolted the end peices on. Then I filled the gap between both spoilers with foam in a can. Once it was dry, I filled the cracks between the top 3 peices with bondo-hair fiberglass filler, same along the top. then because the end peices kept cracking at the seam, I used fiberglass cloth with the resin, then sanded the whole thing smooth and body filler over all the inpercections. You get the basic idea. And you may need to cut the top corner off the 3rd gen spoiler down a bit to make sure the 2nd gen will contour to the decklid snugly
