Replacing airbag steering wheel

Im not sure if this in the right area, but I did a search on steering wheels, and what came up, were in the "parts for sale"board.

Im sure someone can help me out. I just bought a beautiful aftermarket steering wheel, to replace the ugly airbag wheel in my 92 bird.

I understand the conversion is straight forward, but what I would like to know is, after I disconnect the battery, and the yellow SRS wire, and change wheels, will my SRS light remain on? And if it does what can be done to turn it off? Thanks.

take the bulb out or maybe, depending on how the light knows the air bag is there, wire in a resistor of the same value that the airbag was, and it should go off, but im not familiar with the air bag circuit at all, so i dont know if that will wokr

Ive found it alot easier to just snip the supply wire coming out of the DERM.

No , it will still light. The only ways I know of, are, snip the wire, or remove the bulb.
