fab specs on a strut tower brace and CAI

ok so i have an 85 camaro (which is now badged z28 with a 350 under the hood). im runnig a Q-jet with a holley street dominator 1 intake manifold. im looking to stiffen up the front end (purchasing KYB struts, cutting a coil and such) id really like to have a strut tower brace, but i dont have the cash and wont spend it even if i had it to buy a new STB... does anyone have any specs on it? a diagram perhaps that will help me while i fab this up? reminder this is a carbed motor......

Also since this is a carbed motor, nobody has anything to give me about building my own CAI for it. i havent seen any f body with a card running CAI, id like to just to say i have it (i doubt it'll boost my performance by a considerable amount)... i was thinking of using a old dual snorkel air cleaner as a base for the carb and working from there... ill probably have to mod it to get it to what i want but no big deal.... also i dont have the cash or connections to make the rest out of metal, anyone have any solutions that wont melt when i go on 600 mile roadtrips? any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks

A dual snorkel is a CAI. As long as you're not taking in air from right at the carb, ie you're plumbing it in from the front of the hood area, it'll be cold air. Or you can try to plumb that down near the battery area. I know a guy made it out of dryer vent tubing (many people have done that) and it works pretty well.

With the big carb air cleaner you'll need a bend in it. One guy drove his truck over the bar to bend it a bit. I forget who did that now...? I'd use solid rod ends for the mounting, then maybe a length adjuster in the middle so you can add preload. Then make up some brackets to go right in front of your strut mounts. You have a welder and chop saw, angle grinder, etc?
