newb in need of some advice

i just bought a 25th anv. 94 trans am bout 6 months back knowing it needed some work and i wanted it to be reliable and run low 12s at the strip i paid 2500 for the car and every since i bought it it has been everything but reliable it might run for a day or 2 then somthing breaks right now i am replacing the head gaskets and figured if i have it down this far i might as well remove some unwanted weight and i was wondering if there is a way to remove the ac pump and get rid of some smog and emission stuff any help would be greatly appreciated

the car has a powershot of nos but the guy who owned it before me had it rigged pretty good dont know much else about it but im finding new and interesting things about it every day

This is 3rd generation (1982-1992) forum, no 4th gen tech offered here. Your best bet would be to visit camaroz28.com or ls1tech.com.
