SS Hood modifications.
So, I am wanting to extend the back of my SS hood because I do not like the looks of it being rounded away from the windshield, rather than towards it like cowl hoods are.
What the back of the SS hood looks like:

What I am wanting to do:

I know this will require some crazy fabbing skills I bet, but I am willing to try.
Should I maybe use Styrofoam and cut out the design I want then go from there? Make the mold on the hood and support it somehow lol?
I would appreciate any tips for this, especially for the foam route.

To get your mold started... Thin wood,Razor blade, Duct tape, bondo and fiberglass. than after you have it mocked up...You have to make a mold(Getting it ultra smooth and waxing) And lay fiberglass over that. Than split it. Prep what you just pulled off and lay fiber glass of that and that will be your finished item.A lot more to it.A lot of time. Have fun.

i would just build it up with fiber glass. it would use more fiberglass but eliminate the whole deal of making a mold. then shape to desire....
or cut (i cant think of the name) my friends dad does all kinds of custom body stuff and its some kind of foam that you can sand and stuff, but he will use that to get the shape and glue it to the scuffed surface where it is going to be and just leave it there and fibergalss over it. then do finish prep work and paint. or you can lay wax paper over it as long as its not all bunched up and fiber glass over the wax paper which is over the mold, when its dry remove the mold and wax paper.

Re: SS Hood modifications.
Thanks for the replies guys.
86irocterror: That is exactly what I was looking for, time to search for some foam.
