Conversion kits?

how much would it cost to do a conversion from an 83 to a 86 body style? is it worth the time and money?

The "body style" is the same from 82-92. The differences is just the cosmetics. Probably the easiest way to change the cosmetics is to find a donor car.

An 86 will have something different that no other model year will have. It has a third brake light mounted on the outside of the back window.
