Steering?
Steering?
Hi Guys.. I have a 1987 Iroc L98 camaro and the steering is VERY loose. I dont like it.
Do they sell something to tighten the steering up or is there some type of adjustment?
Please help. I dont want to sink alot of money into this car. I just got rid of my race 01 camaro and my 69 camaro. Just want something to cruise around in and be happy.

Re: Steering?
You will need to check the steering componets.
If it's all going it's going to seem like your sinking money into it, but if you buy an old beat up car, that is how it's going to start. Once you have it fixed it will just be regualr maint.

Re: Steering?
Before adjusting the gear-box, I'd check all the tie-rod ball-joints.
Have someone move the steering wheel back & forth over the
"loose" travel, and see what moves most, the steering box input
shaft vs. the pitman arm, or pitman arm vs. axle steering arm.
Good luck,
kk

Re: Steering?
You have to check out the steering on a lift, most likely a centerlink but could be an idler arm or inner and outer tie rods or all of it.
