custom grille mod

What do you guys think? My first stab at some custom fabrication.

It's the stock rs grille with strips of stainless steel glued along the edge of the slats, polished aluminum chevy emblem smack in the middle.

Re: custom grille mod

Looks Ok.
IMO reminds me of a razor. The emblem looks a bit big and bulky.
But my hat is off to you for trying something new.

Re: custom grille mod

It's better than the stock RS grill and it ties in your IROC rims. The bow tie is a bit big for my taste but may look better in person. Overall I give it a 8.5 out of 10.

ya, i'll admit the emblem is a little big...it was meant for a silverado actually. But it grows on you i actually like it better now then when i first put it on, and the upside is nobody will ever be able to mistake it for anything other than a camaro again

Trust me.....The general public is not that bright. On the upside? They'll call it a Camaro, even if they don't have a clue!

Us Firebird owners CONSTANTLY get the...."Nice Camaro!" I've gotten to where I respond by looking any direction EXCEPT towards my Firebird..."Where? I don't see it. Did I miss it?"

So somebody was complimenting your car and all you can do is insult them?

No wonder thirdgens get a bad rep.

While being called a Camaro isn't an insult to my car, it is an insult to their intelligence.

Especially when TRANS AM is across a windshield & their looking at the front of the car......Nice Camaro, huh?

If you think my little reply can be the reason 3rd gens get a bad rep.... Your

Whats the width on your tires? And what spacers did you use? This setup looks good.

I am sure it is kinda annoying to have your Firebird called a Camaro. But I just don't see the point of making an a$$ out of someone that is giving you a compliment. Maybe next time they won't be so friendly to a Camaro or Firebird owner. Especially when the cars are 90% the same.

Anyway, back on topic.

I agree with Stephen on this one. The ONLY time I didn't mind my car being called a Camaro, is when Papa Johns was giving away free pizzas to Camaro owners...

HAHA! That's awesome! I only had one guy that I used to work with that always called my T/A a Camaro. I'm not insulted by it at all, but it was a bit puzzling since I clearly referred to it as a firebird or trans am many many times and he always defaulted to camaro.

That was a great day for Camaro owners. My local Papa Johns had 30+ Camaros outside by the time I got there. It looked like a car show.

But back to topic....It looks good. But the emblem just makes it look like you wanted everyone to know you drove a Chevy, without the hassle of screaming it out the window while driving.

Was it Hellen Keller?

oh and a little bit of .

BTW, the front shots redeem it and i like it a bit more, the downside still being the large emblem. If i were you i'd go find a smaller one from a JY or something. But again, good inginuity (even if it does look like the new ford cars )
