6" to 5" reducing coupler
Hey guys trying to locate preferably a silicone reducing coupler 6 to 5 inch, i have only located one from hps and its 80 bucks, possibility of using and aluminum reducer as well, trying to piece together a one off intake for my truck and unfortunately the amsoil dry flow filter i run is a 6" diameter.
Plan is the heat shield and piping will be aluminum, 6" short piece of aluminum will be tigged into heat shield so filter can be clamped on in the shield and then reducer to go from there into a 5" 45* aluminum pipe that will then have a 5" to 4" reducer to go from pipe to turbo.
While it does sound cheaper just to buy an intake i run a aftermarket exhaust manifold from the 2nd gen cummins on my 06 so the turbo is higher and more forward on the manifold. Hoping to put something together i could make and supply to guys that are doing this swap and running hacked up intakes to make it work. Looking like i may just have to bite the bullet and buy the HPS reducer. Most filters are 5" inlets so i think in the future they will be easier but i love this filter so trying to make mine work. Thanks all for any direction
