sumped my stock tank now what with exhaust?
I just welded in a competion engineering sump into my stock tank. The other alternative was a fuel cell and i didnt like that idea. Im gonna run a holley blue pump with a return line to the tank. My question is now that ive sumped it the muffler is gonna be real close to the sump. Any body run into this problem before and what did you do? I could tilt the muffler a little but not sure if the inlet and outlet pipes will hit with a stock style muffler. I havent decided what exhaust to use so im not limited there. thanks

99% of people dump the exhaust at their rear axle with a sump. Or put the factory heat shield back on I suppose and put heat shield wrapping around the fuel lines. They sell nice pieces that go over electrical wires with velcro on one side that would work out great for this.

i can make a new heat shield or modify mine. The fuel lines arent gonna be an issue either. Ive looked at lots of pics of exhaust and i guess you would have to run true duals or a bullet style muffler right? I have hedman headers and y-pipe 2 1/2". Will it sound awful with a single 3" pipe with a single muffler dumped? thanks

no it would be fine that way too, lots of guys run a single pipe and one muffler with a turndown. Lots of the oval case mufflers are great for this idea.

Or you can run a setup similar to the SLP Loudmouth with the muffler before the axle then Y off to dual tail pipes.
