Putting custom square gauges into firebird dash.
so i've removed the AC vents from the center of the firebird gauge bezel. The car is becoming a race car so all the air components have been deleted.
The dimensions of the 2 holes are 3.5 in wide by 2.25 in tall. If i cut out that middle bar then the dimensions of the one hole is 3.5 in wide by 4.75 in tall.
i need opinions on who makes square digital gauges to fit these holes. Im looking to add either fuel pressure, engine vacuum, transmission temp, or oil temp. Maybe possibly a clock. If i cant find gauges to fit these holes then i will just make it a storage compartment. Any opinions on what to do?

well street, strip, autocross car to be specific. and i don't like the look of a bunch of switches on the dash. id like it to look somewhat factory. i might just try 2 small circular gauges on a custom made panel but id rather find some square gauges

What kind of engine are you going to have ??? Just a carb or fuel injection ??? If yor going with fuel injection. ..you could put the programmer in that spot or a G-teck...

Re: Putting custom square gauges into firebird dash.
I would just make some panels from ABS, bond it to the back, drill the 2-1/16" hole and install some standard guages. Like you were saying.. Youre other guages will be round, so might as well keep em round.
As to your question though...Im not sure who makes square gauges. I dont think Ive ever seen them, unless you get something digital like a scan gauge or something.

Not much time to look at gauges while autocrossing.
Just fill them with plastic as suggested.
