9Inch torque arm bracket

Hey guys I haven't been on for awhile but I ran across a 9inch under a Camaro. Guy said if I took it out I could have it for 200 bucks for the housing or 450 for everything 3:73s or 3:90s. Every bracket to bolt it in the car is there besides he made brackets and tied it in with the car instead of a torque arm. Does anyone make a weld on bracket or can I cut mine off my 10 bolt and weld it on to the 9inch?

Then if it was your car would you buy it all or just the housing? Its a 28 spline axle set up. I didn't know how strong 28 spline was vs the 31 spline...

PS will all be done by a shop...

thanks

^^^^^Is what I used.

The extra 250 would be worth it to me, even at 28 spline setup it would be light years stronger than the current 7.5.

Re: 9Inch torque arm bracket

Thanks Man! Then alright Ill get it all this weekend. I would like to take it to the track a few times a year maybe with some drag radials do you think 28 spline will hold up pretty good with mid 3 to 400 hp? Also with a 6 speed. Or would you just go ahead and buy new stuff.
thanks

While it should hold up fine, if you have the extra $$$ to throw at putting a new Moser 31 splline kit at....that wouldn't be a bad investment.

Re: 9Inch torque arm bracket

I wouldn't recommend 28 spline axles for a street car. If they're aftermarket axles, they may survive a lot better.

Upgrade to 31 spline since even 31 spline OEM stuff is still better than 28 spline. With aftermarket stuff, 33 spline could be an easy maximum upgrade. 35 spline takes a bit more work and is overkill for most cars.
