Re: Full tubb-mini tubb.?

A full tub means completely removing the back floor and suspension from the car. It's replaced with different frame rails most commonly for a 4-link suspension but sometimes for ladder bars. The main purpose for a full tube is to install really large tires under the back. I run 32 x 16 slicks on my car. 15 x 15 rims with 5.5" backspace. I don't have the room for a taller tire but I could still put a slightly wider one on. The 16" wide slicks are more than wide enough. I'd rather go with a 33 or 34" tall tire but can't.

With a mini tub, it's more for squeezing a bigger tire like a 10.5W without having clearance issues. You're still limited by what can fit between what's considered the factory frame rails and the fenders.

A properly done full tub normally costs around $10,000 to do.
