Formula bulge insert dimensions

Anybody have the dimensions for the formula hood bulge insert? The plastic plate insert not the metal insert.
Need it for a project and my bulge is tweaked(bent) enough to not be what I want...

Re: Formula bulge insert dimensions

You lost me... When you say "Plastic", do you mean the aluminum block off plate? Or are you talking about the cast Chinesium "Ornament" at the back of the bulge?

The only plastic piece I can think of would be the cowl induction ducting.

Re: Formula bulge insert dimensions

News to me if they're all metal. Never had one so I don't know. Figured the honeycomb was plastic...

Re: Formula bulge insert dimensions

Honeycomb is metal. My formula has one that looks like a metal plate and has different size holes in it almost the diameter of the plate. Never seen another one before...

Yep, the block off plate and the open honeycomb plate are both aluminum sheet. When they age the black finish fades to shiny bare aluminum.

I'll try to remember to upload a photo in the morning, of the plate with a tape measure for size reference.

20.25" point to point, +/- a 16th since it's probably been dropped once or twice. Should be able to scale the rest of the dimensions.

Re: Formula bulge insert dimensions

Haven't worked on this in a couple weeks, but here's a teaser of what I'm planning.
This is only a portion of what will end up being a large project.

Do you have any with air holes, honeycomb, etc?

Mine will be printed ABS or Nylon and honeycombed. It will also have a spot to clip in the same 3x 1” LED digit readout. Should hold up being next to outside air.

I need about an hour to finish but my time in the garage with calipers is limited. I can soon after have a template file on thingiverse for somebody to print up and check general fitment.
Alternatively I can easily load up a honeycomb only fitment check file whenever.
The ‘finished’ file is a short bit after I can check LED fitment myself.

No problem. Just please if you get it printed give me some fitment feedback so I can fix it for anybody else. I won’t ever print that one up myself.

Hi PMD, nice looking. It looks perfectly flat, how did you make them, hand cut or stamped?

Check with Tony T-Top350 here on the board - I've never installed one, just reproduced the part he gave me.
