88 iroc project car. Need advice about floor pans

Hey guys new to this forum. I have an 88 iroc with so many things i need to do to it but one of the first is floor pans. They are rusted out, al four of them but I'm only worried about the drivers and passengers floor pans mostly because I'm making it a 2 seater and making a custom rear interior. But the only ones i have found to replace are around 350 each. Anyone know some sort of website or camaro people who can point me in the right direction? I can weld and cut everything i just want the stock shaped pans. And ill keep you guys updated this is only day 1 so stayed tuned for the winter. I appreciate it boys i need all the advice i can get!!!!

Cheaper to find a clean shell or entire car for that matter. Cut panel from the other cars or build them with your parts. Problem you will find is that there are crossmembers and subframe parts that are probably rotten out as well and are not available.

In the late 90's I did a '89 Formula. The pans were completed rotted from leaking t-tops. I just cut them out and re-did them with sheet metal from the auto body supply. I wish I had pictures. A lot of cutting, hammering, welding.

Back then money was worth more than time. I'd probably crush a car that needs floor pans now lol

And throw away the money for you gave for that car? Don't crush a car cause it has a few holes, give it to some kid who will enjoy it even though it has holes. Every other thread is "get another car" "crush it". It's medal, fix it it's not hard.

Kids don't want them.

Re: 88 iroc project car. Need advice about floor pans

Your choices:
  • crush it and replace with Prius
  • find a donor and scavenge
  • bite the bullet and pay for repro parts
  • improvise with sheet metal patches

If its a project car, your time is irreplaceable. Choose the route that will give you greatest satisfaction with the process.

Welding floor panels is time consuming.
If you have the right tools and the patience, you will have a product to be proud of.
