Are any parts for third gens still available from GM?
The most common question I hear from people on this board is "where can I find/buy this hard to find part?" And the answer is:
YOUR LOCAL GM DEALERSHIP!!!
You can get almost anything from GM still. From random specialty bolts like the torx TPI runner-plenum bolts to a 91-92 Camaro lower GFX piece. It is all still available.
And the best part is you don't need a part number. They will look it up for you. People keep asking for part numbers to random parts so they can order it. Just call any GM dealer, ask for the parts department, and say "I need a fog light assembly for a 88 Pontiac Trans Am." That's it! They won't laugh at you or think you are crazy for trying to order parts through a parts department.
If they don't stock it (very likley) then they can order it. They can also run a locator for discontinued parts. All you have to do is ask.
So the bottom line is this: Before you post an add or a thread asking "where can I get part X?" or "who has part Y for sale?", CALL THE DEALER FIRST!
Now I'm done ranting.
