ok so i picked up a 88 TA last week from the original owner. all original manuals, and paperwork. Black T-top, digital dash, power windows locks and mirrors, power trunk release, am/fm cassette, digital radio and Heater/ac controls. Runs and drives, shifts fine, Tranny is 4 years old, the exhaust is 2 years old, the tires are a year and change old. The underbody is in good shape with minimal oxidation. the suspension is in decent shape, needs an alignment but theres no rotted out bushings or anything. the carpets a mess (he had a kid) and the rear seats and door panels are just so dry they come apart when you touch them. Headliners there and presentable but fraying around the outer edges. Driver seat looks terrible the pass is good shape. GTA black and silver wheels. The engine developed a odd noise and vibration when i was driving it back from PA to NY. Feels like the engine is off balance (best description i can think of). The oil pressure guage reads 0 but every so often goes back up to 30 and then zip. bad sensor? bad oil pump? i had the oil changed when i left PA just in case it was abused and it didnt look terrible. YES they remembered to replace it. 305 TPI smoke on startup. the front fenders doors hood and window pillars were repainted a few years back Macco style and is bubbling up all over the place. im planning on fixing the rust spots soon as its warmer than 40 out here. hit in the rear DS the fender is creased in but should be poppable from the trunk. She ran the 91 miles pa to here no problems overheating but i think i bit off more than i can handle with this project. Id say shed be good for parts as of now but hell if your bored fix her up. i dont get offers ill start a 5 year project with her. Ill post pics tommorow of the outside.
