its about to be crushed. No more room to store it! This is more for documentation that one of these cars are being destroyed but in the off chance someone might want a part, speak up quick!

And I believe the blazer is for parts.

 

Well, I need a driverside power mirror if it has one.

As for the Blazer, I'm interested in the power mirrors and all related parts. And the tailgate glass if it is the type with perforated tint.

Keep the wheeling/dealing in the classifieds... That's what they're there for.

It seems silly to crush a complete car for a lack of storage. Why not pass it on to someone that has other options?

 

the car is kinda far gone. I'd love to take it on myself but my current car has kinda soured my taste of another project. This car will need a LOT of work to get back to where I would want it.

 

I don't think that is Drews point... offer it in the classifieds for the price of scrap and see if anyone else wants to save it...

 

I guess thats not an option since the car is being crushed in a day or so. This was more for vin documentation in case anyone keeps track of these cars.

 

They're kind of a special car, and definitely restoration fodder. You can't even drive one with all the decals more then a couple blocks without someone stopping you and asking questions. Scrap value is about $200, and thirdgen parts aren't worth dick right now. Stick it in the classifieds for $500 and wait a few weeks. If an enthusiast doesn't snag it up, throw it on Craigslist and at least give someone a chance to rescue it.

 

Don't do a disservice to our hobby by crushing that. It may never catch Yenko money, but there WILL be a day when people think back, "I can't believe that guy crushed one of those."

That IS worth saving.

even if the the engine and tranny were missing,just the
good parts visable would make that worth over $500
i recon.
Even if it is"too far gone"to restore as a proper DT500
i could easily be a real cool car once again

Back in 1986 i bought a "too far gone"'69 camaro for
$450 and fixed it up into a really nice(and potent)
hot rod(as a teenage kid)

OK, David says $800 for the car the way it sits with no title or interior, and $600 for 6 wheels and 4 bowling ball hubcaps. If someone truly wants this car to save it, call him at 434-665-3889 and yell at him! I'm just a messenger lol

 

Why the HELL would he crush a DT500 because of lack of storage? I wonder how many stupid decisions like this are made with these cars EVERY DAY...

seems pretty simple. You have too much stuff, then you have to get rid of it. This is about one of the last things he's gotten rid of, and I know for a fact he regrets it. Sometimes you just have to do what you have to do....

Even simpler would be not getting more stuff than you can handle in the first place. 1 nice project>>>XXX junkers around the property rotting away IMO.

Please don't crush it. Obviously if it is sitting on his property now, it's not the end of the world to continue sitting there until someone buys it.

 

If it was within resonable fetching distance for me i
would snap it up in a second! '82-84 TAs are sooo cool!
As long as the floor and rockers aren't totally rotted out,
$800 seems a fair price with the included wheels and
caps-especially if the engine+tranny are good.

 

the car is yard-driveable. It wont start on its own but if you dump gas into the motor it will run and drive across the lawn. The fuel pump isnt working but that is all thats known. I think he's lookin for $1400 for the car plus rims. $800 for the car, $600 for the rims/caps.

It's almost like he's holding the car ransom or something, $800 or he'll crush it!! To him it's only worth its weight in scrap. If he doesn't care about the car why so much, because its a pace car? But he's going to crush it because it's crap though. Why not take $100 over the scrap price, more money in his pocket and yard. Have fun crushing history.

 

i just haveta say i think its pretty sad that he was gonna jus crush that car that has a ton of potential for maybe a couple hundred bucks and all of a sudden he wants $1400 for everything...i had a 84 that ran and drove and didnt need too much and i picked it up for a grand..nowhere near that shape and it wasnt gonna go to the crusher..if someone else is willing to bring it back to its true potential let them have it for a decent price! i know youre not the one making up the price and youre just trying to help a friend but thats just my 2 cents

 

It Just seems silly to me, financially or otherwise. You can sell the car easily for $600 to $1000, or crush it and get $200 to $300... I think its a silly exercise...

Someone save this car and pay the owner what ever the price it is as scrap at the junkyard.

can I get the liscence plate bracket holder on the front of the car and if its greay interior theres a back peice with 4 phillips screws if you get in the back seat and look up theres that greay panel. thanks
