87-90 Formula or GTA
going to be selling my LT1 car fairly soon and am interested in a clean 87-90 Formula or Trans Am. I used to have an 89, and miss it. I would like a fairly clean interior and pretty much no rust. Looking to do an LS swap or get one that already has it done. Don't think the wife will let me do much more than $6k or so. Mileage is not really a big deal to me.
-no t-tops
-prefer a 5speed
-would like gun-metal grey if possible, but not a must.
-if a roller, would like to be fairly close to Chicago (within 200-300 or so miles)
No rush on this, but just a thought for some of you out there. I hope to have my 94 up for sale in the next few weeks.

New headliner, carpet, and GTA seats have been recovored with the Hampton vinyl. Center cosole is good, no dash cracks.
Car is rust free. There is a dent underneight where a misplaced jackstand was, otherwise underside is really nice.
Could use a paint job but no body rust
Chip in the windshield.
Coverted to non-AC heater box.
406 SBC with nothing speacial done to it internally
Reground crank, resized rods. Hyper Pistons 1.6 stamped rockers, ported 441 heads. Moroso pan. Accel Disty. Really nice hommade converted to prot EFI single plane intake with 4BRL TB. Runs on a Haltec E6GMX. Fabricated alum valve covers, headman full length headers Probably makes 400HP.
Big 4 core alum radiator.
Mildly built 700R4 trans from S10 converted to bolt to V8.
Up front has Moroso trick springs, and Lakewood drag struts.
Has UMI SFC
Forget what aftermarker torque arm, but has the cross member welded to SFCs.
Spohn adjustable PHB, and LCRs
Lakewood drag shocks
Moser 9" with Strange N center section. 4:10 gears with a locker and 35 spline axles.
Hommade true duals that scrape the ground easily.
Car looks pretty well stock on the outside, but all bad *** on the inside. Like I said needs a paint job, and it does need to computer tuned better. Runs and drives down the road but needs the front engine seal replaced, and the driveshaft hits the torque arm up by the trans. I will fix the driveshaft and oil leak before selling. Also interested in selling as a roller, as the engine could go in the wifes vette.
Looking for $6K complete, $4.5K as roller.
If you are really interested I will pull it out of the mini storage and get some pics, but might take me a week or so. The car is in Mankato MN
Here are some pics from a few years ago. I havent done anything to it since, but there is no real good ones from the outside.

I understand why you'd want a '87-90 TA over a 91-92, because of the TA's side warts those years, but the 91-92 Formulas looked better than the '87-90's, which had the larger headlights and black rub strips on the bumpers that cheapened the looks plus the 91/2's had the better looking (and more durable) rear spoilers.

That's your opinion. I prefer the look of the 87-90.
