92 GTA lowered....opinions??
Well I finally got around to getting the suspension stuff installed after the LS7 clutch took a little longer than I thought. Any opinions...too low or doesn't suit the car???
I still am not sure I can navigate daily driving with it that low, but time will tell I guess....

car looks excellent. i don't know what the roads are like up in saskatchewan, but i know that my camaro is pretty slammed and i have run longtubes and a big single exhaust system with the y-pipe running under the trans crossmember and i didn't have many problems with it when it had dd status. the roads in macon, ga are pretty nasty too.

LOVE IT. Looks killer. Is it just me, or does the front look a tad higher??
I think its level, so its an illusion, but just looks like that. Otherwise it looks nice.

IIRC...poly on everything but the tranny mount, UMI wonderbar, UMI SFC's, Spohn LCA's and adjustable panhard, LCARB's BMR torque arm, Tokico Illuminas and Canuk Motorsport lowering springs

The exhaust is lowest at the cutout. Its about 3.5 inches off the ground but its also back near the rear end so that might help. Last edited by razor; Apr 22, 2008 at 11:16 PM.

Looks great. it doesn't looked like its been slammed like crazy, but at the same time it takes empty space out of the wheel wells and makes the car more aggressive looking to me. Its in very good taste, I hope that you can drive on regular roads and navigate speed bumps ok.

The roads are hard for a 91-92' Bird in stock form. That's why the fender ground effects are so hard to find. Unless you are familiar with the route you are taking, you should be alright. These cars sit low as is.

Re: 92 GTA lowered....opinions??
I can hit speed bumps at 25 mph no problem, but our roads here are pretty bad. I hit the bump stops twice so far just on the odd pothole.
I have the Illumina's turned up to 5. The ride is a bit firm but it keeps suspension travel to a minimum. I will try to see how low I can go on the setting without causing problems with too much suspension travel.
I still might try another set of springs that are only a 1 inch drop. The ones I had are 1.6 front and back and the back seemed to come down well over 2 inches. With the lighter LS1 up front it took the front down roughly 1 inch from OEM springs that were cut already.
I willl have to check out some other combo's on the board to see if anyone has a nice ride height with an ls1 and some 18x10 rims on all 4 corners.
On a sidenote thanks for the compliments/ideas. I am starting to like the stance and I really like the handling. The steering on the car doesn't wander or search like it used to before...

Looks awesome, thats actually the color I wanted to paint my GTA someday. Front looks slightly higher than the rear, but not really noticeable.

looks low, but good. I've got sportline springs and found thats about as low as I want to get.. apparently the canuck springs are even lower yet. good luck with it, must be a blast to drive with the LS1/T56.

Sweet! It does look a little higher in the front. Correct me if Im wrong but the LS1 bock weights less because its aluminum...
