I have been told many different things as far as top speed goes in an IROC, can anyone tell me the true top speed of an IROC?
305ci or 350ci TPI engine? Anyone?

 

The 305 TPI tops out around 140-145. I drove my first car (an '85 TPI Z28) up to around 137mph when I was 17 years old.

Car and Driver mag said that top was (if I remember correctly, it WAS back in 1986) 141 mph at around 4500 rpm.

 

I do not have a definate answere here, but I can tell you that there are other factors to take into consideration besides the engine. Gearing being one of them. Transmission (I believe) is another. I LOVE LALALA :lala: :lala:

 

Let's say that I had a world class t-5 transmission with a 305 TPI. Anyone know the top speed for that?
