Well i found the original owner's manual for my GTA when i was vacuuming it out . Anyway i was browsing through it and they show a few pictures of instrument panels explaining all the idiot lights and so fourth and where they're detailing the "Electronic Instrument Cluster" (aka digital dash), they show one with a 7K tach and a 6K redline. All the trans am digital dashes i've seen have 6K tachs with about 5500 rpm redlines. What gives? Then they show a regular analog dash and it showes an 8K tach, which i've seen before, but with a 6500 rpm "yellow line" and a 7K redline? wtf? I wish i had a scanner and show you guys this but oh well.
