Heater Hoses

Anyone got any good ideas on how to install a new short heater hose on an '87 IROC 305 TPI with a/c delete? The clamps are factory installed facing the engine. Is there a special lubricant that helps get the new hose on?

GM uses a solution akin to Armour-All to put the coolant hoses on.

You could always put a thin film of oil on the water outlet.

Oil is not smart as it will contaminate the coolant. The Armour-All-like liquid is water soluble.
