Center console question

I happened to come across a center console in a 84 l69/auto car the other day.It was in pretty nice shape but the thing that caught my eye was a ?(Knee bolster)? on the drivers side.Is this correct? Are these special cuz I've never seen one before?I thought about getting it to sell, someone might need one

...I am more of a GTA buy myself but I can tell you that in 1984 you could get the knee pad in these cars. To what extent they were produced I do not know but its the kind of thing you really do not see that often anymore. Hopefully kizz or another member can add a little light to this...

hey..i did a search and found a few links for you on the subject....I had seen it discussed under the body and appearance boards before...and incase you want to veiw the results yourself..i searched under "leg pad"

https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...light=knee+pad

https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...t=leg+rest+pad

this next link gives you a place to find a new one..for 100 bucks though

https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hlight=leg+pad

Thats all i could find for you...i hope this helps a little, but i swear i some guy was talking about his 90's firebird had one...i wish i could remember more for you. pretty much to answer your question..it was a great idea that never seemed to catch on..so it was pretty special and it was factory stock.

Here is pic of the one I have in my car, it's not a direct pic because I was more taking a pic of the missing side panel...

It was standard on 84 T/A's and the 83 DT500 pacecars (I think).

My 84 has it. It was 84 only. Although I have heared rumors of it on 83's but have not seen any real proof. (except for the DT500)
I recently replaced mine with a mint original.

BTW Alex, FYI your center console is missing a small plastic trim piece in front of the leg pad, see the line in the carpet and the three small holes in the console, thats where it went. Didnt know if you knew or not
