F41 is the RPO for a suspension option. I've seen quite a few Camaros with that badge; but they're usually stripper cars with 4- and 6-cyl motors, so I don't know if the badge has anything to do with the suspension option.
I've never heard of a S/A Bird. There were S/E ones in the 80s, which were base model cars with some trim upgrades.

There isn't much documentation (if any at all) on the optional F41 suspension. So I'm going by memory here... Back in 1984, I custom ordered a 1984 Sport Coupe. The F41 was a $49 option and included stiffer springs, specifically valved front struts and slightly larger sway bars. However, there were three mandatory options that had to be ordered to get F41.
1)
The first was a 305 V8, RPO LG4 ($550). Contrary to the statement above, you could not get F41 with a four-banger or a V6.
2)
The standard tire size on a Sport Coupe was a P195/75R14. To get F41, you had to order the optional tire size, a P205/70R14. Several types, i.e. blackwall, white stripe, white lettering, were available.
3)
The "rally" wheel was also mandatory, RPO ZJ7 ($112).
In addition, you got the rear bumper stripe proclaiming "F41" on the left side.
There were 17,230 Sport Coupes produced with F41 in 1984. Not many considering a total Sport Coupe production of 127,292 units.
F41 was a Sport Coupe option from 1982 thru 1985. It became the standard SC suspension in 1986.

Look in the roads, not in the books.. you'll see numerous V6 F41's. I don't know what year ranges they made 'em and what differences there are from year to year, but they are not rare.

I am referring to 1984 Camaros. Firebirds are a completely different story and I have never claimed to know anything about them, only Camaros. So don't compare the two.
Back in 1984 when I specially ordered my SC, I wanted F41. Being newly married (we were both students at the time), I could barely afford to buy a new car (this was my second). I recall begging my wife to get power windows!! I was told by the special order guy at the local Chevy dealership that F41 was only $49, BUT I had to get the three options I listed above. All told, that was $550 for the engine, $112 for the wheels and over $100 for the tires. I could not afford this, so I did not get F41. I recall this distinctly. If anyone as any written documentation that either confirms or denies what I state, it would be greatly appreciated. Remember, Camaro info only.
