1LE TA question
I'm sure someone else has already posted on this 1LE TA on ebay, but if they haven't, here is the address:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=1871245492
Anyway, my question is, on the window sticker down towards the bottom of the page it lists the engine as a MPFI V8. Now I'm 99.9999% sure that all third gen TA engines were either TBI, TPI, or carbed (not sure about the TTA though, not that that would matter in this discussion). Was MPFI just how GM described fuel injected engines in their window stickers, or was this a misprint on GM's part?

Carbs were discontinued in these cars in '87 ('87 being the last year) and its not even fuel injection, so rule that out.
TBI is throttle body injection, which is not considered Multi-Port, so rule that out.
TPI is the only true "multi-port" V8 offered in these cars. Multi-port referes to one injector per cylinder. 8 cylinders, 8 injectors. The TTA was a Multi-port as well. It was the Multi-port 3.8L like what was used in the Buick/Pontiac/Olds cars of that era, but with a Turbo mounted on it. It had 6 cylinders, 6 injectors.
So if you see a thirdgen thats a V8 "MPFI" then its a TPI, unless the seller has no clue.
