Transmission: A 700R4 that has trouble handling the formentioned 350.
I was always told the bore on a 305 is 3.74" and stroke of 3.48". That is all 305's.

But as far as 5.7 Liter Small Block Chevy's go. There were 2 350 c.i. engines the common 4.00" x 3.48" and the rare ZR-1 350c.i. engine which was a 3.90" x 3.66".
However in 1997 the 350c.i. Chevrolet small block was no longer in production and the new 5.7 LS1 debuted in the Camaro (Corvette in 1996). The LS1 had a 3.90" bore and a 3.62"stroke (yeilding a 346c.i. engine) and used longer 6.098" rods (as opposed to the 5.7" rods the 350c.i. engine used).

Ok now that I have bored everyone I will stop my rambling. Just thought some of you would like to know .
Later, Garrett

3.74" is 3.736" (the actual dimension, as posted) rounded off to 2 decimal places.

Sorry to get picky but it was 97 for Corvette and 98 for Camaro for the LS1, and the small block I though was now a truck only engine (350 that is)?
