No glove on a bird?

My 82 t/a has not glove pouch just an indent and a bird ingraved into the dash anyonme else have this? How rare is it? is it worth keeping?

I think it just means someone removed your dash pouch. From what I have heard allot of early 'birds had a Firebird behind the pouch...

but theres no holes punhed into the plastic to put a pocket on its cool .. but i like to have a glove pouch so im lucky its a parts car

I know this doesn't help much, but it may be more for interest sake:

My 84 Firebird didn't have a pouch either, but a fabric "sash" that had the "eagle" in it. As to what was behind it, I never really bothered to look.

EDIT#1: If I remember correctly, the sash was sort of tucked (glued?) into the sides, but since I don't own it anymore, I can't say for sure.

EDIT#2: Boy was I ever completely wrong. I had both the pouch (left to right, so tight it was unusable) and sash (ran up and down the front of said sash). Sorry for screwing that up. Man I miss that car.
