The Z28 is the higher performance/top model. Check out the Tech Data www.thirdgen.org/tech/techdb.shtml also.

Um yea well, you car's suspension isn't as high end as the Z/28 in '83 and the IROC's you couldn't even get one until '85 so that would explain some of the differences. Many other little things aswell like the rim selection is only 14's if I remember correctly, for sure no 15" 5 spokes on Berlinetta's. Also the main reason I don't like the Berlinetta's the most powerful engine available was the all mighty LG4, no LU5 or L69 engine available in the Berlinetta's in '83 .

Hope this helped a little, Later, Garrett

I thaught the berlinetta was the high performance flagship for chevy(next to the vette). The berlinettas have more insulation and sound deading(this is debatible cause the custom interior on the z/28 is probly the same). The berlinetta didnt have the rear sway bar available( because old people dont take corners fast).I think the camaro berlinetta is a sleeper, yes with the optional white stripe tires especialy.I would compare the berlinettas performance to the newer 91-92 firehawk.Ever heard of a 1le berlinetta? yes thats right the berlinetta is the unsung hero.

Sure the Berlinetta can be a sleeper, you just need to do an engine swap, and tranny swap, and rear end swap, etc. Oh wait a minute if that the case anything can be a sleeper. Even a Vega or a Monza!! I know I surprise alot of people with my V-8 Monza even if I have to remove the motor mount to change the spark plugs !! What was GM thinking

Later, Garrett
