Getting ASC Parts? 1992 Conv.

Hey all,

I've got a 1992 Firebird convertible that I'm quickly learning is fairly rare and a bastard to get body parts for.

The hood, front left fender, and bumper cover got trashed. We had refurb shop redo the bumpercover for $275 and it turned out great, thank ***. We got a fender and then learned about the ASC thing. Apparently the fender is different because of the conversion on the car.

Money is a big problem right now, and I don't need to spend $400-$500 for a dealer to special order it.

Can you go through ASC direct?

I'll try to post some pictures soon. ...

Thanks,

NeedSpeed.

NOTE: I did post this over in Body section too.

I know that ground effects were different on these cars b/c of the extra reinforcement added, but the body panels too?

body panels should be the same. I'm pretty sure no modification was done to the verts at all except that flimsy reinforcement that was added. It was a t-top car that was sent to ASC and had the top literally just chopped off. The only body panels that woudl be different is the tonneau cover, decklid, interior rear seat panels, seatbelt pillar trim, and the windshield pillar trim. So i'm PRETTY sure that if you get a hood, fender, and bumper cover from the junkyard from a hardtop/t-top car with the same style paneling then you should be fine. Someone please correct me if i'm wrong

The mounting bracket by the door on the fender is different. I posted this in the Body section. See some replies there. I think the ground effects are different, so the fender is slightly modified. The only thing to do is cut the old one off and weld it to the new one.

ASC-only parts... You'll need to call and ask as the F-body parts are not listed.
