I just bought a 1986 firebird from my girlfriend..she had it since it was new..the car is blue in color but has had 4 different paint jobs and they were all blue..she has told me, that when she got the car new..it had certain stripping down the sides of car, from wheel well to rear wheel well..she said it had a grey strip and a blue strip and a light blue strip as far as she can remember..getting old here lol..Where can i find the original paint and look scheme to this car?:hail:

 

Hi Lighthorseozzy1. Do you know about the Body Tag? Take the codes off of that and enter them into the site,or I can look them up for you in the Cars and Parts firebird Catalog. The only paint cheme I can think of that is close, is the Blue with grey ground effects. They did have real two toned Birds in 86 though. You just don't see them often. Is it possible that you can post a pic?

 

I have an 86 T/A that is metallic blue, with silver ground effects. I also have the striping around the car as well. There is 8 stripes in all. The first 7 should be silver stripes. The first one, should be about 1/8 of inch wide, as you move farther down, towards the GFX, they should slowly increase in size, with the last stripe being about 1/4 inch wide. This should then be followed by a light blue stripe, also about 1/4 inch wide.

I'd like to see pics of the car, because i have only seen 2 other ones like mine here in utah, and one of them is being primered for new paint.

 

Do you have a picture of your car, My86TransAm? My friend has an 86 TA and wants to have it painted blue with the stripes, just like you described.
