WS6 question

I did a search and could not come up with exactally what is included as part of the WS6 option. Does any one have a breakdown of the option? does it change from year to year? I know my car has 4 wheel disk, heavy duty cooling, ps cooler, I know sway bars and springs are part of the package what else??

Hi i have almost the same car you have but mine is a 82.Do a search on a post I made,It mentioned all the features of ws-6 suspension in full detail.

A short answer yes all ws-6 cars had rear disc by default. If it had rear drums and everything else a ws-6 would have then it was a ws-7 car.

Not quite, the rear disk brakes were standard with the WS-6 on some years and optional on others. My 88 formula has the WS6 suspension (as all third gen formulas) but rear drum brakes. The disk brakes were optional on formulas.

I think that the early 80's third gens, the disk brakes were standard on WS6 cars. In the late 70's/early 80's second gens, disk brakes were optional on WS6 cars.

4 Wheel Discs came standard with WS6 starting in '79 on second gens Trans Ams.

Yes, you are correct! This is what happens when you operate from memory rather than reference

Same miles but sadly mine looks beat.Engine, trans leaks,Rust, dents, some minor body damage, shocks, struts shot it looks more like 163k miles .It was mostly driven by a middle aged women but she gave it to her assh*le son,Who by the looks of it beat the crap out of it.THANK G*D,he kept his 86 z28 and sold me this car.On the rear plastic parts I know what you are taking about mine are carpeted and the plastic area is very scratched and bad looking. To this day I'm still looking for one for my car.

Here ya go. This is for 1982 trans Am's and firebird s/e's with Ws-6/7.You have a 84 this might vary alittle.

Front Stabilizer Bar:32mm on WS-6/7

Rear Stabilizer Bar:21mm with WS-6/7 V-8

Spring Rates:96/23.5 on WS-6/7

Steering Ratio:12.7:1 with WS-6/7

Steering Type:Recirculating ball

And depending on if your car has posi it would have 3:23 rear end.

And all Ws-6/7 always had 15" or 16' wheels depending on the year.

Thanks, here's mine covered in pollon from the trees. Why does it take so much time to clean and so little time to get dirty?
