geerrr new car and cant find rpo codes (where......)!!!!!

Sorry i know this is probly repetitive but i just bought a 82 firebird and its been crazy changed and its buggin me alot and cant find the rpo codes...
i know they are supposed to be either under the console lid or in the locked compartment in the back and still not a sign of a sticker being there!!!!!

I heard the build sheet is under the seat maybe and has the rpo codes on it what seat and "EXACTLY" where are they.

Thanks for your help i need to decode this rig its supposed to have a 2.8 (cause of the vin) and its got a sbc and it is black now with grey int. but i "think" it orig. was a red ext.
see what i mean,, im going nuts.....

thanks if you can help.
Jeff

On a 82 all there is (unless you can find the build sheet) is the tag attached to the radiator core support. 84-90 the rpo sheet was in the center console and 91-92 they were in the rear lockbox.

Don't know if 82 is too far back, but I was picking up some junk parts from 97 mistery camaro, they had no idea what they were selling, but had the VIN. I called the dealer and they told me they had a complete set of RPO codes they could print out. Then they guy just looked over the phone for what I was interested in.

Only thing you can do is send away for your invoice or find the build sheet...

In my 82 (camaro) My build sheet was just taped under my rear drivers side seat. I believe someone with a pace car found there build sheet, what was left of it, taped to the top of their gas tank.

From what i hear it can be anywhere. or no where. goodluck

Those restoration packages dont tell you specific details of your car, but what was offered for your year, and i believe they were printed prerelease so even some of the thjings in them are a little off.

Its nifty to have though.
