"Warbird" or "Blackbird" models?

I had posted this question a few years ago, but with more members now maybe it will ring a bell with somebody:

Back in 1986 at Superior Pontiac in Tampa I was waiting for paperwork to get processed on an '84 Firebird (with the Iron Duke 4 cylinder) I had just bought when I saw two Firebirds drive by the showroom window. They were both black, and on the doors where today's Formula decal goes they were lettered Warbird and Blackbird. That's all I know/remember; I didn't think to ask questions at the time. Anybody know anything?

I'm thinking they were a dealer item, like the old Nickey Chevrolet that sold tweaked 1st gen Camaros.

You are correct, in most cases Dealer add ons of decals and higher list prices.

The company you are talking about is GMMG and they built the Black Bird WS6. It's more than just a sticker thing. Also only available from Carl Black Pontiac in GA.

380hp/400tq Package
Cat Back Chambered Exhaust
High Flow Air Box Lid w/Black Bird Decal
Progressive Rate Eibach Lowering Springs
Torq-Thrust II 17" ARE Wheels
Dimpled Front & Rear Rotors
Dual Hood Accent Stripes
Black Hurst Shift Ball
Short Throw Shift Stick Metallic Silver Rear Lower Panel
Black Bird Numbered Key Fobs
Car Cover with Black Bird Logo
Black Bird Cloisonné Fender Badging
All New Silver Face Gauges
Black Bird Floor Mats
Car Number on Windshield and Rearview Mirror
Rearview Mirror with Compass and Auto-Dimmer
Mobil 1 Oil Fill Cap & Decal

GMMG was not doing this to cars in the 3rd gen era. I believe those to be just sticker add-ons from a dealer.
