1982 Interior Door Bird Emblems
Just wondering if I have the correct year door bird emblems. I have 2 that go where the window crank would go with manual windows. The bird emblem looks like the 2nd Gen bird graphics. I just saw on Ebay someone selling one that has the 3rd gen bird graphics on it and he said he pulled it from an '82. I've seen other photos of these emblems in'82's that have the 2nd gen graphics. If they are susposed to be 2nd gen graphics, when did the 3rd gen graphics come out. Also, was GM just using up the old 2nd gen emblems just to get rid of them on the 3rd gens? They look exactly like the ones you seen in late second gens.

82' was the last year for the door buttons/emblems. Most were like the silver bird in the pic below, but I have seen some that were red and a different style than the 2nd gens or this one.
They were on an 82 Gold S/E and an 82 recaro, but some 82' 3rd gens with the PW option had no holes or buttons also!

yah, mine are different than the one you are showing. Mine have a red bird that looks similar to the 2nd gen design. It didn't really make sense to me since my horn button has the 3rd gen bird design. I have a black and gold TA with PW, not Recaro though. Don't know if this has anything to do with it. I was thinking maybe Pontiac was trying to get rid of old stock from the 2nd gen's. Don't know the year of production...maybe an early '82?
