What is the ZR6 RPO code on Firebirds? SHOW CAR?
I was running through my RPO codes list (the tape finally stopped sticking and I put it in my room for fear of losing it) and I found a ZR6 RPO code on it. Thirdgen.org's decoder is down right now so I took a look at another one here and it lists ZR6 as SPECIAL UNIT, SHOW CAR. I ran a search and only found two threads about it, and neither of them were answered.
Just wondering if this is some kind of rare or desirable option that might have made my car stand out a little more (which is a rather plain T/A as far as options go).

Interesting.. That's a rare RPO code.. I'm guessing your car was built by GM to appear as a showcase for their 1985 vehicle line in some public auto showing.
I'd definitely get in touch with Pontiac Hisotrical Services.. They will probably be able to give you a lot more info... Perhaps even which show the car was built for.
