1985 T/a H.o.

This is a car I found on ebay. This car is the exact car I owned back in 85 with the exception of mine being a five speed and having the wrap around wing. I've been looking for an 85 H.O. for years and haven't had much luck finding one. I think this guys asking a little much for this one though. Also, I notice that the engine isn't dual snorkel. Is this a real H.O.???? I can't remember if it should be code G or H. Everything looks right except for the snorkel and the fact that the car is an auto. I thought all the L69s were five speeds in 85??? It's a beautiful unmolested car. Anyway, here's the link.

Pass on it, its not an HO, the guy is blowing smoke. It does not appear to have the WS6 package either...

F = LB9 TPI V8
G = L69 HO V8
H = LG4 low output V8

None of the 85 305 H.O. (L69) Cars had an automatic transmission.

You could get them without the WS6 package.

That is how mine was built when I bought it new in 85.

That's what I thought. Thanks guys. It's kind of a shame because that car is almost identical to the one I had in 85. That car looks to be super clean. They are getting almost impossible to find in that condition. The fact that it is the LG4 seriously diminishes its value, to me at least. Oh well, the search continues. BTW Dave you have a fabulous collection of cars!!

Man that's a sweet looking 85. definitely LG4 for sure according to the Vin. I wonder though has it been re-painted, i didn't think the LG4's came with the H.O. decals.
By the way, yes the L-69's did come with automatic trannys. In fact most came that way. I know you couldn't get the tuned port 5.0 LB9 with the 5 speed till 87.

Mr. GTA, I think you might be confusing L69s with LB9s. I'm pretty sure you couldn't get an L69 with an auto.

More than likely the Dealer put them on before the car was originally sold... I have seen that before, and then the dealer will up the price because to the typical buyer its an "HO"

As a side note, I think our cars are going up in value, I stoped at a local used car lot, and they had an ok condition 87 T/A with all the goodies, Digital dash, leather interior etc, but LG4 and they were asking 7K

10k for a base model T/A, even with the low miles thats pushing it a bit.

Thanks for the link.

Why do you say "Repaint" There is nothing that I could find that indicated that the car was repainted. The decals appear to be correct. Except of course the added H.O. decal.

WHere are the Sail panel birds suposed to be on this car? I know on my formula there lower and toward the Door window.

Anyone have a pic of a stock 85 T/A?

And also, didn't the 85 T/A's have the black wrap around spoiler or was that something with only the WS6 package in 85?

The Black wrap around spoiler was an option in 85. You could get the old style spoiler on both WS6 and NON WS6 cars.

But with the advent of Fiberglass they look a heck of alot better than the wing, imho. Although I am kind of fond of the mecham wing that you have on yours.
