Besides the fact that they are one of the best looking thirdgens made IMHO,they were the top of the line trans am.The 88s up were fully loaded and came standard with an L98 or you could have gotten an LB9 for a credit

as far as GM goes, the GTA was 2nd only to the corvette. And if its an 88. It might have a digital dash too which I think is pretty cool. I have an 88 GTA. Its a nice ride.
