Seatbelt/Warning buzzer modual question

Just wondering if the seatbelt warning buzzer is the same for all years or did they change? Need to know if a later model will fit an '82. I think the later ones are taller than the '82-'84? moduals and might have a different "pin" configuration but I don't have one to compare. Also does anyone know the part number(s)?

Thanks

I would think they would be the same for the most part. I know the early ones were typically blue in color.

Make sure you get one from a Firebird rather than a Camaro. Firebirds had a chime(like a Buick, Olds, Caddy) and the Camaro had an annoying buzzer like the 2nd-gen F-bodies.

The "tone generator" modules are faily easy to fix. The seat belt chime is controlled by a disc(a timer) that is soldered on the board. The disc heats up and eventually the seat belt chime stops working. I resoldered mine with higher temp solder and its been fine for a few years so far ...

i never knew their was a seat belt buzzer in these cars where exactly is it located at? and i bet it would explain why my seatbelt light doesnt come on other then having a bad bulb, which in that case i cant figure out how to get it out...

thanks for the info. Also didn't know about the differences between the Camaro and Firebird tone...I just figured the Firebird would "buzz" like all other early 80's cars.
