I pulled a dash pad from what I think is an 82 Firebird. Now do 82 Firebirds have the same style of center consoles that the Camaro's have, or is this a Recaro? If it is a Recaro, is there any difference between the 82-84 Firebird and GTA dash pads when compared to Recaros?

1.Recaro's had the same dash that any other car got that specific year.

2.Yes the 82-84 firebirds have he same style center console like the camaro did (console pad was the only difference).

3.The 82-84 dash pad had 2 lines on the front edge.

 

'82-84 Firebirds have the same basic dash pads. The speaker grills changed mid year 1983 so technically there are two different dash pads during those years. Along the front edge are two lines to simulate stitching. '85-92 dash pads are more smooth looking.

The interior was made to look like the inside of a Lear Jet. Although the console may look simular to a Camaro's they are completely different and the parts aren't interchangeable(well, except for the 7mm and Torx screws ...)

The only interior differences on a Recaro T/A is the seats. 1982 Recaro's have a charcoal color interior.

The Gta Trans am didn't come out until 1987.

 

The dash pad changed to the newer style on the 84 Camaro. Did the change not occur until 85 in the Firebird?

 

85 is the year for the dash pads change for the Firebirds.

I think I have a dash pad from an 83 thats the first designation, The corners of the speaker grills is really sharp, not rounded. Actually its in very good condition, there are some small cracks from the corners of the speaker grills tho
