Is it really worth it?

Is it really worth it?

My question is. Is it really worth restoring and modifying to high performance road course top notch 3rd gen? I did calculations and it would take me about 25 000 to 30 000 USD to have LS1, T56, 12bolt, roll cage, racing seats, new insane paintjob, body modifications, chassis stiffening, rims and wheels, disk race brakes, and so on you get the idea.. To basically have a replica of the Concept Iroc Z 1988 and have all the performance parts to make it a 600 hp road course/show car.

Is it worth putting all that money into Camaro when simply by the time you done invest all that money into it you could have bought a C5Z06 which is by far better car in terms of everything. I don't mean to sound harsh but it's just a Z06 is another level car. It could be any other particular sports car in that price range.

I want to hear opinion of all of you guys and please be specific why would you make specific choose on what ever it may be.

The only answer to that question is you, yourself.

If you want an insane third gen, then build one. If you know in your heart you'd rather have a vette, then get a vette. Guys like Kandied91z and others do it for the love of the car.. they're not doing it for anyone but themselves. It is our fortune they share it with everyone.

I know Kandied91z has said before he could easily have paid for and have two or three top notch vettes and have them parked in his garage. However thats not what he wanted.

So the decision is upto you. Get and do what you want. I'm working on a 1st gen camaro.. but till then I'm working on my 3rd gen

Why not kill 2 birds with 1 stone and get a 3rd gen Vette? I like the '78/'79 models with the fastback rear glass. Anyway, this will not solve your Vette vs Camaro thing, but just for the heck of it here's a '78 Vette:

I don't see where this references History or Restoration. If you modify the car to be a super car, then it's not a restoration. There are other boards this could go on and with the request for opinions, I can see this going the wrong way.
