88 GTAoptions questions
i read on the GTA source page that "VG8 -- Label, Notice To Buyer" was an option, but only put on 1,731 cars (out of 9765 GTAs) what is this option?
also acording to GTAsourcepage only 5 GTAs were optioned without a power antenna. my car may be one of those five. i am waiting on my PHS info to verify this. it may have been deleted by an owner along it's life.
another one:
YS1 -- Seat, Custom Rear
all GTAs were equiped with this. what is it?

But, really, how good is it to be 1 out of possible 5 with no power antenna? To be honest (not rude) i can't see that as making the car too much special because the option itself is sort of trivial.
Now, maybe if it was a Notchback

i thought it was just neat enough to share. i actualy wish it had power antenna, i hate the thing on the front quarter pannel
You're right that it is interesting, finding 1 out possibly 5. However, in terms of value, i'm not sure it would really mean much. Didn't intend to sound hard. And of course i can be wrong. It might mean something to someone else.

if there is any change in value at all i imagine it is worth less then a GTA equiped with the power entena, but i though it was worth sharing.
i realy want to know about YS1 and VG8, if anyone knows that would be awsome.

Hmm... my GTA doesn't have a power antenna, and the antenna that's on there is a GM antenna. Too bad my RPO code sheet is gone.

1987 zero equiped. not an option.
1988 9,760 of 9,765 equiped. only 5 without power antenna.
1989 all GTAs equiped.
1990 all GTAs equiped.
1991 all GTAs equiped.
1992 all GTAs equiped.

Tony, if you'll using the GTA Source Page to document the power antenna availability for 1987.... look closely at the paragraph above the small listing of 1987 options. You will notice this line there....
"Listed here are many options for 1987 Trans Am models and most or all of them were available for the GTAs"
The 1987 GTA info is grouped together with the regular T/A listings for that year.... just because it is not listed there does not mean a certain option was not available on the GTA in '87. I apologize for that omission.... I was writing down recognizable codes as fast as I could....
Power antenna usage was usually connected to the radio that was selected for the car, and included with the premium unit. It is not listed on the 1987 order sheet as a separate option, whereas it is listed as "STD" for the GTA for the years 1988-1992.
Sorry for the misinformation there....

So... um... holy crap.
The value of my GTA just tripled.
When I draft up my new "for sale" ads, I'll have to make sure to mention the ultra-rare lame antenna.
