Window sticks out when door is shut

The driver side door when you shut it the top of the window doesn't go under the rubber instead it goes over top of it. If I push the glass in and shut it at the same time it shuts like it's supposed to, but it's hard to do that from inside the car lol.. It's the top part of the glass from the mirror all the way up.

It sounds like you need to adjust the window stops. You need to remove the door panel to gain access. There is a stop towards the rear and front of the door. The rear stop is on the channel that the window guide wheel runs in. The front stop is next to where the rear view mirror cable comes out of the door.

I was having this same exact problem before i put my car away. I personally believe that its the colder weather combined with old weatherstripping that is make the weatherstripping harder than usual. Its from this that i think the window is having trouble going under the weatherstripping and sealing.

When i would get in my car and this would happen, all you have to do is lower the window, and then put it back up and it should go right into place. My big problem was when i would get to school, it wouldnt close and obviously i wasnt in the car so i couldnt just lower the window and bring it back up.

It might be time for new weatherstripping...

Alrite, let me know if you find a solution to the problem, because i would like to know the definitive source of it. Like i said, i think its from the cold and the fact that the weatherstripping is old...but i could be wrong. It just seemed that whenever it was under 40 degrees in the morning my door wouldnt seal, but like after school when it had warmed up into the 50's, maybe low 60's my doors would shut no problem.

If you do need new weatherstripping though its gona cost alot. I checked and for GM weatherstripping its like $150 per door.

I don't think it has to do with the weather stripping. I got this car in Oct when it was still in the 70s and 80s and it did it then. I feel like the window doesn't roll up like it's supposed to. It's completely out of line. I'll go check it out later. I can't be bother with it right now since it's too cold outside.

If your window is stoping too high it will do that, You have to lower the stops. If you can lower your window slighlty and then close the door and it works properly then thats your problem. Chances are your stops have warn or been pushed out of adjustment over time of rolling your window up.

It could be off by only 1/16" or 1/8" of an inch to do this... Do not lower it too much as they may leak.

Of course you may have soemthing broken in the door alowing it not to roll up correctly.
