First off i know that none were supposed to be produced from the factory.Let me tell you about my car.It is a 1988 iroc z. 305 auto that runs mid 13's. I bought the car off of a used car lot.I,ve read the camaro white book, and camaro performance by david shelby. both state that there were no z28's produced this year. But the white book also states that some test mule cars . And high ups at chevy might of had "special"cars made slipped out through the door. it is a one in a million chance though. But on my rpo sticker located in the console ,it has Z28 listed as an option. No misprint. It was the 140somethousandth camaro out the door. Plus I know that z28 was not the code for iroc as the iroc code is listed at the top of the sticker. It is something like 14p87 or something I forget. But the stiker is the original one, as verified by the matching vin #'s. Any halp would be greatly appreciated. I plan on attending the super chevy show at rockingham this year.Maybe some one can help me. It will be the 4th year that i have attended.I will have my car there. I will be there all 3 days. oct 13-15. My camaro is burgandy with grey interior. It has no mirror on the drivers door thanks to some drunks that tried to run after they hit me. But I got their plate and their insurance is going to fix the damage. They are setteling . But please email me, or meet me at the show. or both . Thanks for your help.

Technically any Iroc is a Z28. When they say that GM didn't make Z28's in 88 they mean that the only way you could get Z28 was with an Iroc. Also no 88's had external badges designating it as a Z28. A 88 Z28 without the Iroc package would be unusual but a Iroc with Z28 is standard.

To try and freshen-up what Drew said, GM did not offer a Z28 model per-se. The IROC model, however, was designated as Z28 in the RPO codes instead of B4Z as it had been when Z28 was a separate option. None of the Exterior badging said Z28, it all said IROC-Z instead, but the badge on the dash still said Z28.
