What year was first 3rd gen trans am convertible

Were there any formula convertibles madeas well?

Axle/Gears: 12-Bolt 3.73
From the factory, I think it was 1991.

ASC started the F-body convertible conversions at their Livonia, MI plant in 1987.

The first Camaro convertible authorized thru Chevy and sold at the dealership was 1987. The Firebird wasn't available as a convertible till 1991.

there were also some 83 firebird and camaro's that were converted im not sure what company did them , but I know a guy who has one , he wont sell it to me , but he is letting it go to shame ,

Yes, there were several companies that converted regular cars to convertibles, but they werent factory authorized until 1987 for Camaros, and 1991 for Firebirds, and only by ASC.
