Okay, I know this might be annoying, but I need some help decoding the rear end ID code. It is:
CPO 080107
I think the last digit is a 7, but it has been partially ground off or something. It could also be a 2. If anyone can help me with this, I would be greatly appreciative. Or clue me into where I can find the info on my own. I can't find it anywhere, but I believe it is a 1970 rear end out of a truck? I counted the gears and came up with a 2.64 ratio, but I have never heard of these gears before. Any help is greatly appreciated!!!!!!!! Oh, and is it posi/l.s.?

Okay, I scratched and scrubbed and am fairly certain that the last digit is 2, not 7. Also, how can I tell what kind of rear end it is? I know it is a 10-bolt, hence the 10 bolts for the cover, but how do I tell how big it is - in inches, like some people say they have a 7.625" 10-bolt or whatever. What is mine? PLEASE HELP MUST KNOW!!! I HAVE TO GET A GASKET AND HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO ASK FOR!!!!

How would you feel if a stupid gasket you need is keeping you from putting your rear end back in your car??? I CAN'T GET THE GASKET TILL I KNOW WHAT I HAVE!!!!!!! And I have been looking on the Net for 2 hours straight, and can't find anything!! Doesn't anyone have a book or something and will take 5 minutes to help me? PLEASE!!!!
